Academic calendar

Continuous flexibility

At Cedar Mountains University, we operate on a continuous academic calendar, with a new 12-week term beginning every Monday.

This flexible schedule allows you to start your educational journey at any time throughout the year.

Should you have any questions about our unique progress model or require further clarification, please don’t hesitate to reach out to your student concierge.

Term Duration and Assessment

Each term runs for 12 working weeks, from Monday to Friday.

During this time, you have the opportunity to resubmit assessment tasks an unlimited number of times until the final Friday of the term (week 12).

To ensure you have sufficient time to incorporate feedback and improve your grade, we recommend allowing up to 7 days for your professor to provide feedback on your resubmitted work.

Term Breaks

We have two mandatory non-teaching weeks, which serve as term breaks.

These breaks commence on the last Monday in December and the last Monday in June.

During these periods, no assessment grading or feedback will be conducted, allowing both students and faculty to take a break and restore some work/study/life balance.

Assessment Deadlines and Extensions

No extensions will be granted for work submitted after the term ends.

To avoid any last-minute hindrances or foreseeable issues, we encourage you to submit at least one iteration of each assessment task well in advance of the term deadline.

Course Completion and Final Grades

You have the flexibility to finish a course at any time by choosing not to resubmit any further assessment tasks and/or declaring your course complete.

In such cases, the final grade awarded for each task will be entered into your academic record.

Course Withdrawal and Refunds

If you wish to withdraw from a course, you may do so by the Wednesday of week 3 (20% of course duration) to receive a full credit or refund.

To be eligible for credit or a refund, you must not have submitted any work for assessment by your professor. Please note that this policy does not apply to auto-graded quizzes.

Retaking a Failed Course

In the event that you fail a course, you have the option to retake it at a 50% reduction in course fees.

This opportunity allows you to revisit the material, improve your understanding, and work towards a successful outcome.

Enrolling in a New Course

When requesting to enroll in a new course, please provide at least 7 days’ notice.

This allows us sufficient time to process your request, confirm faculty, and ensure a smooth transition into your new course.

You may not enroll in more than four courses at any one time.

That said, you can declare a course complete if you are happy with your grade and it meets the program’s progress requirements.
